In the 2nd post of our Trends of the Week series, we will be recapping some of the viral social media trends from this week that you can participate in with your friends and family!
Superman Challenge

Everyday people are bound by the limitations of gravity, but not with TikTok’s Multiple Freeze Frame filter! For the Superman Challenge, participants use the filter to essentially take 4 pictures of themselves, aligned together to look like a ‘Superman’ pose. Some participants have also used this trend to thank the very real ‘Superman’s in our lives, such as our healthcare heroes who have played a significant role during the pandemic! Another wholesome trend for you to participate in! Featuring the song Grace Kelly by Mika, this trend first took off as a way for singers to showcase their singing abilities through harmonising with themselves. After Sarah Cothran’s rendition of Grace Kelly went viral, TikTok users then used the sound to share their life stories, often including how they have overcome challenges and setbacks! To put a creative spin on this trend, why not share your journey of discovering a product you really love!
放个大招给你看 (Cute Cheek Filter)

Long after its first wave of popularity in 2018, this trend has recently resurfaced onto the TikTok For You Page! It includes a simple and catchy dance to 放个大招给你看 by Ryan.B. You can incorporate your favourite samples by dancing with them, or matching them to the lyrics (eg. 感受凉爽 — feels refreshing)! Alternatively, you can participate in this trend with your family members for a short bonding session!
